Summer Recap

We had an absolutely great jam packed summer!  This is a LONG post trying to remember some of it!
In June Callie played Softball with Shannon helping coach and Chase played t-ball.  They both improved SO MUCH this year and both really enjoyed it.  No complaining of games just ready to go and loving it.  Chase's season was a little shorter than Callie's.  Callie was so much less afraid of the ball and by the end of the season hitting away.  Chase needed all the gear so lucky for him he has older cousins who gladly handed down all their outgrown t-ball stuff - he was set!

For the first year we did not have a babysitter come to the house.  I only worked Mon-Wed most weeks, Cole went to Christy's house a little but mostly Shannon with the help of his parents watched them.  Shannon did not take a college class this summer, instead he took four different seminar type classes for credit.

We had such a nice, NOT HOT, summer so they were outside a lot.

The big two took swim lessons at the Y again.  They did a two week session in June, were off for three weeks and then took another two session in July.  Again their improvement from last year was amazing.  Callie really enjoys it and is thinking she wants to continue some during the school year.  Diving was the big thing she was working on.

We participated in the Pittsburg Public Library summer program.  It is such a nice program and the kids area is wonderful.  Callie reads a ton so it was a must for her but Chase actually really enjoyed it too.  One thing they received was mini golf passes so here we are using them:

No pictured but toward the end of summer we went to family swim night at the Pittsburg Aquatic Center and had so much fun!  Callie and Chase enjoyed the slides and lazy river with the pool.  Cole loved the toddler area and the lazy river.  He is so different than my other two and really wanted the other kids in the toddler area to play with him - you could just see him light up when he had a playmate - too cute.
 Just hanging out :-)
We got to see Grandparents a lot and even went to the park some:

Our patio was a constant mess but very enjoyed:

Mom went with me to take the big two to the dentist in KC one Friday.  After the no cavity and very cooperative trip we went to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant.  All the kids love it but I think all of us enjoyed watching Cole LOVE it as much as anything.
The did their second week of VBS at our Church towards the beginning of July.  Not a great pic but this in of the Sunday evening program.
Cole would be in water all the time - he loves it.  And really being NakNak as he calls it is the way to go....mean mommy tried for a least a diaper on.  He had a "baby pool", the sprinklers and the slip-n-slide were all big hits.

 More pics from swim lessons:

We got together with friends that we all enjoy so much and too often allow busy schedules to keep us apart.  One night at our house then another night at their house.  The little ones play together and then big ones really play together.

Cole mowing too.  We really were outside so much!
 And usually wet!!!

One of the last days I had off Mom and I took the kids to the Jump Zone in KC.  They had a great time and we did a little shopping afterwards.

They love to pick up the hedge balls.
Using that tractor to dump them.
 Cole driving aimlessly as usual.

 She loves to her scooter.

And when it was too hot for the outside we played in the basement.  Legos are always a top choice.

I have no words for this - they really play A LOT and I never know what will walk thru the kitchen while I am cooking.

Arma Homecoming parade the Saturday after school started.
Riding all the rides.  Callie and Shelby did all the BIG rides.  Chase and Cole the little ones.  Chase was so cute taking care of Cole on all the rides.  Cole loved the "ride horses" and the boats.  Not too sure he love the roller coaster?
Callie, Chase, and Shelby on the slide.
