May 2011

I have lots of cute pics but either the computer or blogger is not working right so most of them will have to wait until later - my patience can no longer take this.

April 30th, Shannon and I headed to Iola to my Grandparent's auction.  They moved to retirement apartments.  Shannon's parents kept the kids.  Kinda sad but was a nice time to visit with family I don't see often when I didn't have kids needing my attention.

May 7th was the walk and May 8th was Mother's Day.   We went to Church with Shannon's Grandma and then to her house for lunch.  My parent's came down in the evening.

May 21st we went to Kaleb's graduation party near Ft Scott and then on to KC to Tyler, Trenton, and Trevor's birthday parties.  It was a great day!  The 22nd after Church and lunch at pizza hut buffet, Chase took a nap while Callie and I went to a wedding shower for Kelsey.  That evening my parents came down to watch the kids while Shannon and I went to a retirement party for our HS principal (Shannon's parents attended also).  It was stormy and delayed the party some.  Toward the end of the party word began spreading that the tornado had hit Joplin.

Callie's Kindergarten Graduation was at 1:00 on Thursday, May 26th.  I had planned to leave Chase at daycare but Callie was insistent that he come.  We met for lunch at Applebees and then to the graduation.  Today she had a half day of school and then went to Mary's to join the crew for a pizza party for the last day.  Callie made cupcakes for them.

Thank you letter 2011 Step Up for SIDS

Thank you for your donation to Step Up for SIDS in Connor's Memory!

Step Up for SIDS continues to grow each year and was again a wonderful event.  All funds raised will remain in Kansas to provide grief support and community education for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
We were able to enjoy a beautiful day to walk, talk, and remember Connor.  It is so refreshing to me to be able to take time away and to freely reminisce about the short time we had with Connor and the lifetime we had already envisioned for him.
It is also so meaningful to me to be able to donate money in Connor's name to this organization.  I am so glad this non-profit organization was in existence when I faced this tragedy and as sad as I am to see new people there each year I am glad that they have this organization to help them.  The support and resources they provide can make such a difference.
Thank you for your love and support as we remember Connor.
Love, Julie
