Butts and Tonsils

A couple weeks ago Chase got a rash on his bottom around the edge of his diaper. He could pull his shorts up and scratch it. We tried but by July1st when we went to KC to get the photos done it was evident that it was getting infected. So the next day, Friday, we went to the doctor. Staff infection, maybe MRSA. So baths 2-3 times a day, creme, and antibiotics for 10 days - oh and keep it open and get the stuff out. I am so glad Alisha warned me that it would be super gross (Dylan had it a couple years ago). Shannon soon got the squeeze job - it was so gross and hurt him so badly. It swelled out like you wouldn't believe but by mid week seemed to be going away. Then Friday a week later he woke up with it oozing again. Not a good sign and we only had a couple days of meds left so off we went to the pediatrician again. She lanced it and 7 more days of meds. It is now completely healed I think and we only have a couple days of meds left.

Wednesday this week Callie had her tonsils out. She is such a trooper. The only time she had trouble was after we were in the operating room and then she got scared and we had to hold her down to put her to sleep - she even tried not to breathe so she wouldn't breathe the gas in to go to sleep. She was great in recovery and when we got home that day, Thursday was rough as she got sick three times, today has been much better so hopefully we are on the mend. I am off until Monday but then Kelsey, Shannon, and some days Mom will be here.

Photos by Portrait Innovations

July 1st - Chase almost 18 months (July 4th) and Callie 5 1/2 years.

Photos my me

You will see in the photos above that Chase would not smile. He hated the flashes and mostly screamed and clung to me. It was apparent the aim would be to get some of him not screaming, smiling was even an option. He was eating animal crackers in some :-) So I had to post a couple of him not looking so tortured.

4th of July weekend - Saturday

Saturday we headed up to mom and dad's for the day. Everyone was there and it was chaos as usually but with fireworks added in - in a few years it may be scary! It rained on and off but that was kinda good as everyone had to go in to rest and cool off for awhile. Stephanie had gotten a kid confetti pack from Sam's and Callie loved that! It was a mess but such a hit.

4th of July Weekend - Friday night

We went to Shannon's uncle and aunt's house for a cookout. Callie and Shelby did smoke booms and sparklers.........who knew running thru smoke could be that entertaining.

KC Trip

June 18 & 19 we went on a trip to KC. We went to CoCo Key water resort. Mom, Dad, Dennis's family and our family. The indoor water park was a lot of fun. Callie tired out before the boys and Chase fell asleep on the lazy river.
The hotel that is attached is a holiday inn. Shannon had read reviews on the internet that they often had AC trouble. It was really hot out that day and they had no AC in the rooms. We had to get mad to get our money back so we could change hotels. It was terrible....talk about customer service........oh course we want to pay to stay in a room that was so hot you couldn't hardily breathe. So we went across the street to a Dury Inn. it was was cheaper and nice and they had a flyer where you could stay there and get a day pass to the the water park - definitely the way we will go if we go again.
The next day Tom's family met up with the rest of us to go to Worlds of Fun. My camera died and the photo's below are the only ones I have of the trip. We got a good photo of all of us right after we entered the park - 8 adults and 7 kids. It was hot, we got caught in a rain storm, waited it out in the cars, had lunch, it was cooler, went back in, Callie again tired out on us, but it was fun and I was pleased with how much they had for the kids to ride. Chase will even be able to ride some of them by next year.
It was a stressful but fun weekend. Connor's 3rd birthday would have been that Sunday, the 20th.
