Dance Recital 2010

After watching all the older girls during dress rehearsal Callie put on a pre-show most of the day on Saturday. She probably dressed up in 6 different outfits and made up a dance each time for me to watch. It was GREAT!

Anxiously awaiting the show to start.
She did a great job and had a great time!

Kindergarten here she comes

Callie's preschool graduation was cute. They sang songs with actions, received their diplomas, watched a video of their year, and had refreshments. Callie was so excited and she is so ready to go to Kindergarten. Good thing we have a lot planned to keep her busy this summer! Callie's "best" friend is Hattie and you will see her in most of the pics - we are hoping they get the same teacher for Kindergarten. Preschool has been such a good experience for Callie and I can't believe how much she has changed.

Chase did well during the graduation and especially loved the refreshments!

It is so good that Callie is so excited for Kindergarten otherwise I could be a blubbering mess. Today is her last official day at Marys (she will probably go some next year when I have to work and the kids do not have school). I can just so vividly remember the first week I came back to work in Jan '05 and started taking her to Mary's house!

We have been spending a lot of time outside when the weather has cooperated. Chase loves the sand box. I would have never thought of getting one for a child this young but Chase plays in it as much as Callie does. He did have to give it a taste test a couple times before figuring out it did not taste too yummy.

Callie is very impatiently waiting for her strawberries to ripen.

Chase has mastered the "baby" slide.

Moved on the the big slide with Callie. She loves this more than he does.
And moved on to going solo on the "big" slide.
Callie and Chase both love to "water" things. Unfortunately while Callie waters plants, Chase waters himself.

There has to be a better way to haul this water.......
Callie just had to have a scooter for her birthday. We didn't really think she would play with it much but Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Gary got it for her. Up until this month Chase has played with it more than Callie. For some reason she finally wanted to play with it. First she wanted to get all decked out in the outfit, looking cool, and have her picture taken. Then it was time to try to learn to ride it. It didn't take long to have success and she was going.

Next was Grandma Peggy's garage sale bicycle finds. She got a cute girl one without training wheels that we are still in the process of adding and this "boys" bike. Callie has never shown interest in riding tricycles or bicycles until now. She rode this all over and loved it. She was so proud of herself. Also right in there she started really swinging herself. She was so proud of all her big girl accomplishments. She had kinda swung herself before but wasn't too interested. Now she can go high and swings herself a lot.Chase was not to be left out. We had to bring this outside so he could follow Callie.
So much hard work outside.....both kids love to ride on the lawn mower. This time though it put Chase to sleep and I guess daddy decided he had the right idea. So much for getting the lawn finished before the rain.

I didn't take any pictures but we went with Tom's family and Mom & Dad on Saturday to a circus put on by the Shriners in Ft Scott. I am sure as far as circus go it was kinda cheesy but the kids absolutely loved it. Callie is still talking about it. She was so amazed. Chase did well too. He had trouble when animals were out cause he didn't understand why he couldn't go down and play with them.
