One year

Friday, April 19 - I wanted to use the $50 off that I had received the last time I had Cole's pictures taken to get one year pics.  I have been pretty good to get his pic taken but have not always been on time (6, 9 month, etc).  So we left work/school and headed to Joplin to have his pics taken, eat at BWW, and then go to the bounce house there.  We were just hitting Joplin when I heard it - WHAT WAS THAT? - CALLIE DID COLE JUST VOMIT???? Oh yes he had - it was BAD.  Shannon pulled into a Walmart parking lot and I tried to clean up what I could.  It was supper bad smelling.  We decided to head on to the mall if for no other reason that to get him out and better cleaned up before heading home - cause it was COLD outside and everyone was freezing from the parking lot clean up.  Cole was crying for a drink so I gave him some water.  He got sick again before even getting to the mall.  Not looking good.  I changed him into some jammies I had and sent the kids into the mall with Shannon while I tried to clean up the car / car seat.  So much for BWW we grabbed a quick bit at the food court - Callie said she was sorry but I told her it was OK my appetite was not too great at that point :-)  Cole acted fine so I figured what did we have to lose.  I took him up to Penney's portrait studio and changed him into his outfit.  He played and had a blast while we waited forever.  Shannon and the kids went to the new mall arcade and played mini golf.  Cole got great pics.  We headed to the bounce house - it was CLOSED.  The kids were so disappointed so we tried the other place in Joplin - it had a private party and was not open to the public that night.  So we headed home for baths and bed!!!!  The kids recovered from the disappointment very well.  Cole never got sick or seemed even slightly off again - no clue!

Tuesday, April 23rd - Cole got his first hair cut and Chase was getting one.  It was all in the back so it did not change his looks as much as I thought it would.  I tried to find a couple before pics but this was the best I could do -

 Drool much?

Thursday, April 25th - Cole's first birthday.  Callie was so excited about it.  She had told everyone.  I had taken them to walmart to pick out presents for him.  Callie was into it.  Chase LOVED CHOOSING SOMETHING FOR "COLE".  I kept reminding him it was for Cole.  But that just like he shared with Cole, Cole could share with him.  Callie got him blocks, Chase a lawn mower like Daddy's, and we got him a tractor that makes sounds.  Since he needs nothing and really doesn't care we didn't do much - I can't wait to get him sandels!
Not sure why I wrapped them since Chase and Callie did most of the unwrapping!
Callie decorated cupcakes and we let him have one on his birthday.  He was a mess!  Blue was not a great choice!  I don't think he really got much in his mouth but played with it a lot.  Callie recorded it!  Chase was not sure and said that next time I should probably give him one without frosting :-)

Saturday, April 27th - we had his birthday party.  (Callie had the day off on Friday so the kids stayed with John and Linda.  Shannon and I headed home after work to cook and clean.  Shannon got sick and finally went to the doctor on Sat AM - strep and bronchitic)  It was a yucky day but the party seem to go well.  Cole had no clue but was happy!!!

I didn't take a pic of the cupcakes Callie decorated.  This time he ATE it!!!
This blurry pic is the best I have of his new ride!

Update

The posts I am publishing I have quickly written so they may be rambling and messy but I wanted to get them out and kinda caught up so I could go from here.  I don't like being that behind.
Here are some random pics:

Easter Sickness

With Easter the week after spring break we only went back to a four day week since we both had Good Friday off.  We enjoyed a nice weather Friday.  We were outside and Cole was in the stroller almost supper time when he threw up.  Thinking was just a fluke we went about our evening and he seemed to feel fine.  But he threw up again within half an hour.  He got sick all evening.  I was up with him a few times in the night and he never got sick again or had a fever so I thought we were good to go.We got up early to head to my parents for their Church Easter party and Easter at their house with my brother's and their families.  Cole was SICK.  Fever, throw up, diarria.  So Shannon took Callie and Chase up to mom and dad's house so they could enjoy the Easter party and playing with all their cousins.  They had a great day.  Shannon come back to his Grandma's house for their Easter.  Cole and I literally spent the entire day in the rocking chair after getting back from urgent care (they did nothing - just have to wear it out).  He was so pathetic. He just wanted to lay on me and would scream if I did anything. Mom and Dad brought the kids home that night.  I was up most of the night with Cole.  I was in bed when Chase came running in to tell me the Easter Bunny had already came and brought presents.  I didn't even get a good picture with all the kids and their baskets cause Cole would have no part of it.  I stayed home with Cole in the rocking chair while Shannon and the kids went to Church in the morning and then John and Linda's in the evening.  I would double up on the Tylenol and Ibuprofen and still his fever would not break.  It didn't help he would randomly throw it up sometimes.
Sunday night I hadn't been up with Cole too much but Chase had woken me up a couple times with a nasty cough.  He had been fine when he went to bed but I knew that Linda would be watching Cole on Monday by the sound of it so I could take Chase to the doctor.  Then at 2AM Chase had an attach like nothing I have ever seen.  It was so scary.  He was coughing this cough that was a bark and couldn't stop, throw up, wheeze in, and start again.  He could not catch his breath or stop.  So John and Linda came over and we headed to the ER.......viral croup.  He had a breathing treatment and steroids for 5 days but was fine really after the breathing treatment.  Cole continued to be sick and just not himself for most of the week.  By Friday he was finally back to himself.  John and Linda watched the boys all week.  I only took off Monday and Wednesday PM.  It was a long week.
 Dying Eggs

Chase got a DS like Callie's and he was so excited - so was she so he would quite using hers.  I was worried cause she got more things but it seemed to work out.  I don't think he noticed.  Callie did but I could explain it to her better.

I love that puppy is always somewhere close to Chase :-)

Easter Photo Shoot

We did this as part of a fundraiser but also cause I am a sucker for pictures.  Cole went first and did so well.  I was so excited.  But then he was DONE.  Would have nothing to do with pictures for all three of them.  We finally gave up.  No point torturing him and it wasn't getting any better!

Young Authors

I was supposed to be a small group leader this year for Callie's young authors but Chase got sick the night before and we were in the middle of hiring a new superintendent so I had to find someone to take my place at the last minute.  I was disappointed but as it worked out Tracey had a great time filling in for me, I was able to sneak down and watch Callie's class before heading to my meeting, Callie got honorable mention for her class!!!  We hired a new superintendent and I took off at lunch to take Chase to the doctor - strep again for him.  Callie was really prepared that she had won each year so far so she might not this year.  She was excited when she did!!!  And since I was at the doctor with both boys, Grandma and Grandpa picked her up from school.

And one of the elementary teachers was kind enough to send me some photos.
