Swim Team - Callie

Swim - Callie had her first swim meet in Webb City on June 6-7.  We really had no idea what to expect and to be honest I was really afraid that she would not like it and she had worked so hard for so long.  BUT SHE LOVED IT.  It was a fun new adventure for us both.  Shannon had not been feeling well and we had no clue what to expect so he and the boys stayed home.  It worked out well and we had a great time.  We got there at 7 each morning and left around 1ish each day.  She did two events and a relay each day.  So proud of her!!!

After that first meet Shannon and I would both go sometimes or one of us would go early and the other come closer to start time or we would switch off.  It depended on what the boys were doing and what was going on for me with work, etc.

We went to 5 meets total so 10 days of meets and then the B championship in Silom Springs for just the Sunday day of it.  After the first couple meets she started doing 3 individual events each day and sometimes when the number of kids allowed a relay each day.  She improved so much.  Breast stroke by far was her favorite and what she was best at.  She received 8th place at the B championship.  The top 6 went to finals and metaled with the next two as alternates.  So her name was announced and she received a ribbon.  She had a great season and really worked hard.
