Activities

Usually the Frontenac Homecoming, Arma Homecoming, and the Crawford County Fairs all have carnivals for Callie to enjoy. This year none of them did. So Saturday we went to Mom and Dads for my birthday and went to Mound City to the Linn County Fair. It was so very hot but Callie had a blast. Chase liked the marry-go-round and cars OK but tired out quickly.

Friday we went to the Farlington Lake beach/swim/playground area. It is so nice and we hadn't gone in two years. I was pregnant with Chase the last time we went. We had a great time swimming, playing in the sand, and on the playground equipment. Chase absolutely loved the sand/water edge - he could fill his bucket with water or sand and play all he wanted and no one was worried about him getting wet/dirty. We got them out of the water and off the beach by bribing with the play area and then got them off the play area by promising to come back soon, maybe this friday.

Callie planned all summer for the surprise birthday party she wanted to throw Shannon. We baked a cake and decorated it, got party supplies, played pin the tail on bullsey, and turned the lights off and hid when he came in to surprise him. She was so excited about it and talked about it all day (having no clue that she was totally giving it away). She had quite the party planned out and we totally endulged her.
