Lots of Rain so no camping with Clevenger's.
Went to Jeff's house for 2nd annual McAdam Picnic on Sunday- rainy but didn't stop the fun.
I woke up Monday with pink eye so went to Urgent Care. After a week and a call back to urgent care finally went to eye doctor Friday when Mom was down - yuck!
I worked Tues-Thurs. Shannon went to Softball/Baseball state tournament in Manhattan Thurs/Fri and Sunday. Mom came down Friday and we took the kids to the Library to start off the summer reading program.
Saturday (May 30) was our first summer trip to Silver Dollar City. We entered the park at 9:30 and did not leave till 8ish - I don't think there was hardly a ride/place there that part of our crew did not ride. It was a GREAT day. Callie and Shannon rode coasters while the boys and I rode/played. Then Shannon had Cole while he rested and I took Callie and Chase to ride some "inbetween" rides. We would switch up here and there, the family rode the water rides together. We were just all over the place and ended with a souvenir for each since they had been helping with chores to get the summer schedule off the right way! Callie has a hard time finding something as she is getting older but a handmade name necklace made her a happy girl!
I had my annual check up Friday, June 5th so we all went over so we could go to Galena on the way home for a picnic and playing. The nature center there was a hit.
June 6-7 was the first swim meet for Callie at Webb City. Shannon was not feeling well so he stayed home. John and Linda kept the boys and Callie and I figured out the ropes. I was so proud of her and excited that she LOVED it.
Different summer with swim team with 5 weekend meets and the 1 Sunday Championship.
June - Shannon coached Chase's T-ball team with games twice a week for the month.
VBS 2nd week in June at "Kelsey's Bible School" - Chase and Callie both went and LOVED it like always. They had their program Friday evening.
VBS evenings last week in June at our Church. It was hard since it was still t-ball for Chase so he missed twice with games. Then Chase missed on Friday since after their KC dentist appointments the boys stayed with my parents for the night since Callie had a swim meet on Saturday. I was unsure how Cole would do but he never missed a beat and had a great time. They had their VBS program Sunday night and I might not have thought to put them in their tshirts - hey i was so proud to have them there on time, dressed nicely - woops.
Swim lessons for the boys for 4 weeks - last two of June and first two of July. They both did so well. I was not sure how this would go since Cole had really never done anything without us and Chase was used to being the "little" one we watched over. Linda took them the first three days as I was at work. Cole was carried by the teacher the first day - but she was so good working with him and he willingly went to her - he got so much better and by the time i went on day 4 he was right with the other few kids his age. Chase had no problem adjusting to being a big kid after a short initial hesitation. He did great and was the one who asked that they do a second two week session. He moved up to the next class and then actually passed it. Cole continued to improve and enjoy it too. I was so surprised and impressed with both of them!!!
Callie did Kids can Cook for three days and attended two Greenbush science one day classes.
June 19th I went to Springdale for one last AR visit with Jenny before she went to TX. Fun day together - pedicure, shopping, eating, chatting!
Dentist visits in KC for the three kids - Shannon took Callie on Thursday so they could set up fireworks stand on Friday. Mom and I took the boys on Friday. We got to stop to visit Kate and meet Kyle! I was so happy to pass on the new clothes we had had for Connor. They were the clothes he never grew into so I had taken them from hanging in the closet with tags still on and put them into a tub. I had not had a desire to do anything with them before. I was so happy for Kate and her family and since Kyle was a June baby I knew the sizes would match up well. I was surprised I wanted to and was actually very excited to give them to him!
Thurs, July 2nd - Tom's family and our parents for a BBQ then to Farlington for fireworks.
Saturday 4th of July - Clevengers for swimming, fireworks, fun!!!
Pittsburg swim meet - lots of work but fun, got to know the other families better, my parents kept the boys Saturday and Shannon's parents kept them Sunday - and they each got to come see Callie swim. John brought Chase to watch once too.
Branson July 21-24 - Big Cedar Lodge - pools and more pools, lazy river, mini golf, whirl pool tub, nature on our balcony, canoe for the big kids - Silver Dollar City 5-10 one day and then 1-10 the next day (fireworks) - wild world.
Silom Springs July 26 - We got up early and headed there on a VERY CURVY road. He was a fun meet at John Brown University. Callie got 8th place in breast stroke. So her name was announced over the speaker. She was an alternate as only the top 6 go to finals and medal. But the 7 and 8 are alternates and ribbon. Glad we got to run down there for her to have the experience.
July 30th sleep over with Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Gary after touring Ft Scott. Dinner and watching a movie for us - it was the first time all three kids stayed the night and we had time to ourselves - it was weird!!! They did it again the next week with John and Linda but it was not a weekend night so I had work.
Shannon turned 40 on Aug 3rd!!!! Callie baked him a cake and we celebrated him!!!
Joplin Aquatic center and then Pittsburg Aquatic Center - after the swim meats were over and work slowed a little we did some fun things on the last couple Thurs/Fri and weekends I had off.
Sleep over with Grandma Linda and Grandpa John.
Potty Training - last week or so of summer, just put him in his paw patrol underwear and it only took a couple accidents and we were done with diapers. He was just ready. He went from wanting his diaper to wanting nothing to do with diapers. He was so proud the end of the first day when he put a stink pickle in the potty. He had to tell everyone. One weird thing is he would go poop outside if he needed - I mean I figured peeing but pooping was one I had not heard of - he said he went poop like Chief did. Whatever, not in his pants I guess so I am good. No looking back!
Minion Movie was a fun outing for all!!! I only had to take Cole to the potty like 4 times but he NEVER had an accident and it was only end of week one!
Cole is already moving so he can get over to "see me" on my phone.
whose kids parents didn't follow directions
I LOVE THIS PICTURE OF ALL OF US ON THE 4TH!
tractor show with Daddy
He told me he was making sand angels - I am sure this was at the late hour of like 7 AM too.
Of course we had to go to Fritz's after their dentist appointment.
Kids can cook creation
The pool being broke and the new one not in yet did not slow these kids down.
Just because I loved what was in his wagon.
Fort Scott Fort jail.
