Grandma and Grandpa celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Wednesday, December 10. They had a wonderful day celebrating together. I had not gotten a card off in time and decided that calling them would be better anyway. So while waiting on Callie at Christmas program practice at church I called and visited with them.
While getting ready on Friday, December 12th mom called to tell me grandpa had passed away early that morning. The visitation was on Sunday afternoon and the funeral on Monday. John and Linda kept the kids for us on Sunday and on Monday they went to school and day care as normal.

We have all been amazed at how well grandma has done. I cannot imagine how much she misses grandpa. However she has chosen to make the best of her life and is really working hard to regain strength from her recent illness. She has come a long ways and is really amazing us all. We are so proud and learning so much from her on how to make the best of what you have been blessed with.
